Two barrier culverts on a tributary to Ruby Creek were replaced with fish passable structures and one barrier culvert was removed, restoring fish passage to 3.46 miles of habitat for coho, steelhead, and searun cutthroat trout. The first crossing on mainstem Ruby Creek was originally a failing 3 foot culvert which was replaced with a 20 foot span precast concrete bridge. Replacement of this crossing improved fish passage to approximately 3 miles of salmon stream habitat that extends to Square lake. At the second barrier site, an 18" culvert was replaced with 12 foot span concrete box culvert. This occurred on a Ruby Creek tributary that opened up approximately .5 miles of stream. The third barrier removal consisted of removal of a 13' culvert and road abandonment, with no replacement.
