The project involved removing noxious weeds and establishing native plants on .42 acres of riparian area on Wildcat Creek in the Chico Creek watershed. Himalayan blackberry and Engish Ivy dominated the streamside area, inhibiting growth of native trees and shrubs which would make a more functional buffer. Some sections of the streambank lacked riparian vegetation. The intent of the planting was to provide riparian vegetation for fish and wildlife, provide shade, stabilize slopes, and treat stormwater runoff.
