DESCRIPTION

Phase I of the B2B project included the construction of a cross vane which spans the entire main channel of the Entiat River. The cross vane is constructed of large boulders and incorporates large woody debris. The cross vane creates pool habitat and maintains the pool habitat through scour during high flows. The project also included improvements to make an adjacent irrigation intake water tight to allow flow through the canal year-round, as opposed to seasonal dewatering of the canal to coincide with the irrigation season and prevent damage to the intake pipe from freezing. Other improvements to the irrigation canal outfall have also been made to make the outfall more fish friendly.
