DESCRIPTION
The three boulder crossvanes were constructed to provide increased pool habitat and juvenile overwintering habitat. The structures were designed by the USDA-NRCS Wenatchee Office for habitat as well as a source for monitoring instream structure design as it relates to geomorphic and biological reactions in the channelized lower Entiat River. The NRCS and Conservation District have monitored the river profile, width to depth ratios, and pool depths for seven consecutive years since construction. Monitoring fishery abundance was begun in 2005 with ISEMP. The three structures will continue to be monitored for effectiveness and structural integrity.
