This project fabricated, constructed and installed the log boom (as designed and permitted) at the orifice of the Entiat PUD Canal.

Modification to Entiat Bridge-to-Bridge Reach Restoration, Phase 1 project. The constructed design for the Bridge-to-Bridge juvenile off-channel habitat enhancement in the irrigation canal was based on the assumption that the water level in the canal remained elevated at the same level during the non-irrigation season, and actions would improve year-round off-channel conditions for juveniles.

Since construction of the cross vane and orifice structure, large woody debris will clog the entrance to the canal at the orifice, especially during higher spring flows. The installation of this proposed log boom structure will reduce the amount of maintenance needed to ensure fish friendly flows into the canal system. The log boom will also deter woody debris from the potentially dislodging the orifice structure and habitat structures placed in the entrance/side channel of the canal.
