DESCRIPTION
Project restoration of Crescent Harbor and Crescent Creek area. This multi-agency partnership including Navy, Land Trust, Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group, and Skagit River System Cooperative have had ongoing and successful restoration in this area for many years. The restoration has reestablish meanders, pools and other stream complexity that was lost when the stream was ditched and straightened decades ago. The restoration reconnects the channel downstream of Crescent Harbor Road to the adjacent floodplain. Future projects hope to restore and connect more of the watershed to the downstream restoration work already completed. Projects will ultimately benefit ESA-listed Chinook salmon and steelhead trout, along with coho, pink and chum salmon. This project is expected to benefit Chinook, coho, chum, and pink salmon, bull trout, steelhead, and cutthroat trout.
