Goodman Creek Large Woody Debris Placement Ph. 2
#23-1148 #23-1148
Organization North Pacific Coast Lead Entity
Sponsor Wild Salmon Center
Status Active
Schedule Start Date: 6/1/2024 End Date: 8/31/2027
Category Category: Restoration
DESCRIPTION

To restore ecological processes associated with the formation of complex habitat features, Goodman Creek Large Woody Debris (LWD) Placement – Phase 2 builds on restoration efforts implemented in 2021 through Goodman Creek LWD Placement (project 17- 1234), by placing large wood instream between RM 11.4 to 13.0. Project deliverables include final design and strategically placed large wood structures creating small, stable debris jams and thereby increasing pool habitat and habitat diversity. A mix of native conifers will be planted strategically along the riparian corridor to enhance long-term restoration. Segment 4 is a low gradient, low discharge channel with good access, making large wood placement both feasible and practical.
