DESCRIPTION
The Old Lowden and Bergevin-Williams irrigation ditches were proposed to be piped to increase instream base flows in the Walla Walla River. This project converted old flood irrigation projects along the newly developed pipe line to high efficiency systems, further decreasing water demand from the irrigation project. The piping installation was completed in the spring of 2013 with the modification of 18 pump stations and 11 metering stations for flood outlets and installation of 8.8 miles of delivery pipelines serving 1,840 acres of irrigated cropland and pasture. An estimated 4.5 cfs of saved water will be put into trust.
