DESCRIPTION
The Dry Creek minor spawning area supports a population of wild steelhead above the town of Dixie, WA. Middle Mud Creek is one of the Dry Creek tributaries below the town of Dixie that has undergone extensive riparian restoration increasing flow and improving water quality. The tributary enters Dry Creek in a reach where a head cut has developed leaving the tributary hung on the wall of the Dry Creek incision. This project would work to design and implement fish passage into Middle Mud Creek from Dry Creek opening more habitat to rearing steelhead. As part of this project, a second barrier just upstream from the head cut would be addressed to provide passage to the entire tributary.
