DESCRIPTION
An active head-cut has been identified on Dry Creek which could produce a migration barrier for fish of all life stages. This project would first work to stop the upstream migration of the head-cut and second assess fish passage habitat work. A large component of this project would be to conduct riparian planting. An additional phase of this project would be to work with landowners to reduce incision thought the headcut areas. The project would work to aggrade the channel through the use of structures placed in the stream and perform similar to beaver dams. The structures would work to collect stream substrate and raise the water table much the same as a beaver dam will rase water and cause deposition. These structures would be place so they do not create passage problems for salmon.
