DESCRIPTION
Dry Creek is one of the Walla Walla Rivers main tributaries to the middle reach of the river. The stream is classified as a priority protection reach require projects that maintain existing conditions. The lower river currently is not considered a priority for salmon recovery due to extensive damage caused by head cutting. The upper reach supports a wild population of steelhead however the size of the population is not known. This project would assess six stream fords on NFK Dry Creek, in Scott Canyon and determine their affect on steelhead survival. If some or all the fords a determined to be imminent threats to survival efforts would be made to reduce negative effects. This project is desingated as a low priority for Salmon Restoration Dollars at this time because the county will be looking into options for these fords.
