DESCRIPTION
This design project will produce final designs to improve habitat on a section of left bank along the mainstem Naches River through riparian enhancement and the promotion of floodplain connectivity with the creation of side channels with riparian and instream habitat features. Design will be focused on utilizing the entire 50 acres of property and 0.5 miles of streambank for floodplain connectivity and riparian enhancement. Contracted work will include site assessments, hydraulic modeling, a list of design alternatives, final designs, construction specifications, and design memos.
The North Yakima County Conservation District proposes to produce final designs to improve habitat on a section of left bank along the mainstem Naches River through riparian enhancement and the promotion of floodplain connectivity with the creation of a side channel with riparian and instream habitat features. Design will be focused on utilizing a large portion of the property and 0.5 miles of streambank for floodplain connectivity and riparian enhancement. Contracted work will include elements of a final design including; permit applications, final design report and drawings, technical specifications, construction quantities and costs, and bidding documents. This project is expected to benefit steelhead, cutthroat trout, bull trout, and spring-run Chinook salmon.
