DESCRIPTION
The Chelan County Natural Resources Department (CCNRD) implemented Phase I of the Nason Creek Oxbow Reconnection Project. The goal of this project is to reconnect approximately 5,500 linear feet of off-channel refuge and foraging habitat for endangered spring Chinook, and endangered summer steelhead trout within lower Nason Creek. Funding for this phase was used to complete project hydraulics and hydrology analysis, engineering, and design. Final design proposed two 12' diameter culverts under Highway 207 to reconnect 27 acres of off-channel habitat near RM 3.5-3.9 on Nason Creek. The culverts will convey approximately 10% of the flows from Nason Creek through the side channel.
