DESCRIPTION
We are working on Design phases of future project to restore the lower reach from RM 2.7 to RM 6 of Chambers Creek by removing rip rap banks, slowing down erosion of tributaries, increasing short -term wood loading and promoting long-term forest recovery in the lower Chambers Creek Valley. The project will build on the Chambers Creek Habitat Assessment and Conceputal Restoration design Alternatives, October , 2019. The next steps in Designing the project include: Field assessment of Lower Peach Creek. Field verification of log placements;Refining wood loading targets. This step will include a hydraulic model to test the effectiveness of different wood structure types, sizes, and densities. Identify riprap removal extents and coordinating with local agencies to determine construction constraints on helicopter use.
