DESCRIPTION
The Land Trust proposes to acquire for permanent protection 1,680 acres of commercial forest land along the Middle Mashel River. In combination with projects funded in 2015, this project will complete protection of the Middle Mashel River corridor. This reach of the Mashel will be protected from Boxcar Canyon to the confluence with Busy Wild Creek. The proposed acquisition includes approximately 5 miles of the Middle Mashel, 0.7 mile of the Upper Mashel, 0.4 mile of Beaver Creek, and 0.6 mile of Busy Wild Creek; the steep bluffs on both sides of the river and adjacent upland forest.
