DESCRIPTION

This project is located in the Chico Creek watershed, and covers an area of 0.9 acres with 437 feet of stream. Lack of LWD and pools are of concern in this part of the stream, as well as erosion. Installation of LWD would alter hydrodynamics in order to increase channel complexity and create a riffle-pool complex. There are noxious weeds present on the site, which include Himalayan blackberry and English ivy; the removal of these weeds contributes to riparian habitat enhancement by making room for native plants to flourish.
