DESCRIPTION
The Carpenter Creek Estuary protection and Restoration Project will permanently protect 55 acres of high-quality estuarine intertidal habitat. Carpenter Creek Estuary is one of very few remaining intact, undeveloped forested intertidal embayments in the South Central Puget Sound. Located in Kingston, Kitsap County on the northern portion of Puget Sound's Great Peninsula, Carpenter Creek and its estuary provide measurable ecological goods and services to Puget Sound nearshore ecosystem processes and the myriad biota that depend on these services.
