DESCRIPTION
This project replaced two culverts at a private drive crossing Chicken Coop Creek that had two 18 inch culverts that are a barrier to fish passage based on the WDFW fish passage standards. These culverts were be replaced with a 12 foot span by 8 foot 11 inch rise x 36 foot long galvanized steel horizontal ellipse structural plate steel culvert. The new culvert will be installed at 3% slope and correctly sized materials will be placed in the culvert to simulate the natural stream channel. Chicken Coop Creek flows into Sequim Bay. The species that will benefit from this project are coho, chum, searun cutthroat, and steelhead. Total habitat gain is .5 miles.
