DESCRIPTION
These properties were purchased by Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) to protect and restore critical Summer Chum habitat of Chimacum Creek and the surrounding estuary.
WDFW manages 77 parcels, totaling about 78 contiguous acres purchased between April 2000 and June 2003. Restoration projects have been conducted in this area to help restore habitat to natural conditions. See HWS projects #02-03-000, Chimacum Estuary Habitat Restoration Phase 1 and #02-03-001, Chimacum Estuary Habitat Restoration Phase Phase 2 for more information about the estuary restoration efforts.
