The Lower Big Quilcene Restoration Final Design 2017 project completed a number of important final design tasks for the Lower One Mile project on the Big Quilcene River. These tasks included: -Geotechnical surveys -Wetland delineations -Completion of 60% infrastructure design materials -Completion of 90% infrastructure design materials and design report -Completion of 100% infrastructure design materials and bid documents The culmination of these combined tasks has resulted in a well supported, shovel ready final design that encompasses the infrastructure elements of the Lower One Mile project. The 1,040 foot long bridge shown in the design documents will span the entire north floodplain of the Big Quilcene River, and will allow for the unrestricted river channel movement and floodplain connectivity necessary to restore crucial habitat for ESA listed Hood Canal Summer Chum in the lower river.
