DESCRIPTION
This project has been completed by the landowener taking 24 hours to complete the projct on 150' of marine shoreline near Holly, WA. The landowner planted sections of the property to enhance and restore the property with a diversity of suitable native plants that will stabilize erosion concerns on a steep slope and on a non-bulkheaded marine shoreline. The restoration project will also enhance wildlife habitat and provide a landscape needing less maintenance. To continue to build the riparian area, a relationship has been developed between the landowner, WSU Kitsap Beach Naturalists and Woodbrook Nursery.
Restoration: This parcel was planted with Pinus contorta contorta (Shore Pine), Mahonia aquifolium (Tall Oregon Grape), Symphoricarpos albus (Common Snowberry), Iris douglasii (Douglas's Iris), Festuca roemeri (idahoensis) (Roemer's Fescue), Potentilla gracillis (Graceful Cinquefoil), Elymus mollis (American Dunegrass), Acer circinatum, (Vine Maple), Ribes sanguineum (Red Flowering Currant), Cornus stolonifera (Redtwig Dogwood), Iris setosa (Alaska Iris).
