DESCRIPTION
The Madrona Beach Bulkhead Removal project seeks to restore 240 feet of nearshore habitat by removing a failing creosote bulkhead and associated fill. The bulkhead is currently depositing fill debris onto the nearshore. Invasive plant species will be removed during project construction and replaced with native shrubs to provide nearshore shading and nutrient exchange. The project is located at the head of Eld Inlet, approximately 2.8 miles from the mouth of McLane Creek. The adjoining tidelands are held in conversation easement by the Capitol Land Trust. This project will benefit juvenile Chinook, Coho, and Chum salmon, steelhead, and forage fish.
