DESCRIPTION
There was an amendment on 10/30/19 due to upstream landowner flooding concerns and subsequent design analysis that changed the wetland design. The project scope will remove the stream meander, wetland, and in-stream channel work. The geo-tech and design analysis determined that the soils present onsite would not sustain the predicted "wetland" habitat and could potentially cause upstream flooding concerns. Working with the landowner, the engineer, and the project was scoped to only include enhanced riparian restoration and return roughly $200k of PSAR 17-19 dollars. The project site was infested with scotsbroom and extensive maintenance occurred for two years prior to planting trees. 1,660 plants were planted in two zones, a wetland zone and an upland riparian zone. Plant tubes were installed on each riparian plant along with topsoil and mulch. This should increase plant survival by reducing weed competition and limiting moisture loss.
