DESCRIPTION
The objective of the project is to assemble a document and design package to submit to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for a Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) to remove areas of Aberdeen and Hoquiam from the floodplain and place them in a mapped Zone X, eliminating mandatory flood insurance through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). To accomplish this objective, a document and design package shall be prepared meeting the requirements set out in Section 65.10 of Title 44 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).
This project developed a document and design package for the proposed North Shore Levee that was submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for review. FEMA reviewed the materials and issued the project a Conditional Letter of Map Revision in October of 2017. Documents generated for the FEMA submittal included an intro letter, MT-2 forms, a hydraulic analysis & floodplain mapping memo, hydrologic analysis models, a biological assessment & essential fish habitat evaluation, a geotechnical analysis & levee certification report, prelim design & construction recommendations, structural calcs, an interior drainage analysis report, prelim plans, and an operation & maintenance manual. The work was completed with $45,795.90 in remaining funds which will be rolled over to the new North Shore Levee RCO project number 18-1214.
