DESCRIPTION
This project will correct two culvert barriers on a Clallam County owned road within the Sol Duc River basin near Beaver, WA. The goal of the project is to restore access for native salmonids to their historic range of habitat use. The objective is to remove the current barrier crossings at MP 1.74 and MP 1.78 on Bear Creek Road and install fish passable structures in the summer of 2024. The Anton and Cedar Creek tributaries provide valuable spawning and rearing habitat for fall coho, fall Chinook, winter steelhead, sea-run cutthroat and rainbow trout. Implementing this project will result in restored fish passage for approximately 5.4 miles of anadromous habitat upstream.
