DESCRIPTION
In 2012, the SRSRB supported the engineering and design for the trapezoidal flood way flume on Mill Creek through Walla Walla WA. The flood way blocked Mid-Columbia Steelhead, Bull Trout and Non-listed spring Chinook from high quality spawning and rearing habitats in the Blue Mts. east (upstream) from Walla Walla. The flood way is constructed of concrete and is owned by the City of Walla Walla and regulated by the USCOE. The design for the reach between the 9th street bridge and the 6th street bridge was implemented in 2014 and 2016 using a combination of SRSRB (SRFB) and CTUIR match (BPA) funding.
