DESCRIPTION

Mill Creek is classified as having the potential of supporting high numbers of steelhead and salmon. The Walla Walla County Conservation District has completed work on screening the Blalock Irrgation District 3# diversion on Mill Creek. This project eliminated the "take" situation posed by the previously un-screened 10 cfs Blalock diversion at the lower end of the Mill Creek floodway. There remains an opportunity to improve irrigation water conveyance efficiencies on the Blalock Irrigation District #3 conveyance system through the replacement of leaking pipes as needed.
