DESCRIPTION
Excessive sediment is a major factor limiting salmonid production and recovery. Joseph Creek is considered a major spawning area for salmondis but is clasified as a protection reach within Washington. Projects which protect exsisting conditions and alow passage are the priority in the reach. Near the mouth of Cottonwood Creek Joseph Creek has established a large bank cut reducing riparian stability. This project would work to stabilize stream bank which is currently contributing new fine sediments into Creek. Work with landowner within property to develop better stream channel morphology and establish better riparian health.
