DESCRIPTION
The South Fork of Coppei Creek is designated as a priority for salmon restoration in the Snake River Salmon Recovery Region. Coppei Creek supports a wild population of Mid-Columbia Steelhead within the Walla Walla population. The removal of imminent threats such as fish passage barriers caused by road culverts is a priority for population recovery. The replacement of the undersized road culvert on Barnes Canyon Rd would open more than four stream miles to steelhead spawning and rearing.
