DESCRIPTION
Japanese Knotweed is a newly discovered invasive weed in SE Washington, first discovered in Mill Creek in Walla Walla County. An effort to eradicate knotweed in Mill Creek will be completed in 2013. In late 2012 knotweed was also discovered on the river levee in the City of Waitsburg in Walla Walla County. The Walla Walla County Conservation District was notified and will be investigating options for removal in 2013. It is anticipated future projects will be completed to combat the expansion of this noxious weed.
