DESCRIPTION
Riparian habitat for Joseph has not been listed as a high priority for salmon recovery in the Snake River Salmon Recovery Plan, however river temperatures in the lower river have exceed 4 days > 72°F set in other tributaries. To benefit salmon in this river reach riparian restoration has been supported for the purpose of improving complexity and minimizing summer high temps.
Riparian actions include the planting and protecting riparian buffers under a number of recovery funding agencies.
