DESCRIPTION

The Snake River Salmon Recovery Plan identifies unscreened irrigation diversions as a imminent threat to the survival of salmon and steelhead in Mill Creek in the Walla Walla River. The Snake River Salmon Recovery Board has been working with its partners to bring all irrigation diversion up to compliance in regards to proper screening. To date the Walla Walla County conservation District has secures funding designed and installed screens in Mill Creek protecting endangered summer steelhead and bull trout.
