DESCRIPTION
This project was to complete an overall watershed analysis and inventory of Coppei Creek to identify broad categories of work needed and aproximate locations for projects to: 1) reduce streambank erosion that is contributing to reduced habitat condition; 2) increase riparian buffer areas to restore natureal stream function and habitat; 3) reduce landloss from streambank erosion; 4) increase flood control and or flood prevention and protection; and 5) increase winter rearing habitat for steelhead or other salmonids. This study is a responce to the funding of the Coppei Creek Restoration Project, under a Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife Salmon Habitat Recovery Grant (WWCCD, 1998). The study reach extended from the mouth or Coppei Creek to the bridge that crosses the North and South Fork Coppei Creek, or the lower 8.1 miles.
