DESCRIPTION
The Kittitas County Conservation District proposes to consolidate two gravity irrigation diversions on Swauk Creek to a single existing point of diversion with a fish screen that meets and is operated pursuant to NMFS and WDFW fish screening criteria. A portion of the irrigation conveyance channel will be piped to reduce evaporation and infiltration and increase the efficiency of conveying the adjudicated water to the irrigated fields. In addition to the diversion consolidation and conveyance piping, cottonwood copses will be planted in strategic locations on the grazed land downstream of the point of diversion to provide shade and future woody debris for the stream.
