DESCRIPTION
The Little Rattlesnake Creek Floodplain Reconnection project will decommission approximately 5 miles of FSR 1501 from its beginning at FSR 1500 to its junction with FSR 1503 near the National Forest boundary. Work will include: - Remove all asphalt surfacing for recycling off site. - Remove aggregate base and road fill material from sections within the floodplain. Use that material to partially fill road cuts not adjacent to the stream shaping them to allow for drainage and re-vegetation. Rip and munch the remaining roadbed to a minimum depth of 18". - Remove 2 wood bridges and concrete headwalls. - Barricade Grouse Haven road at an effective point near its junction with FSR1501. - Remove all culverts and cross drains, approximately 13. - Construct multiple log and rock structures at specific locations in the former road prism to prevent the stream from cutting into the newly disturbed soil - Re-vegetate all newly exposed surfaces.
