Cascade Fisheries (CF) led a design team and design process that progressed project designs from alternatives to conceptual (15%), to preliminary (30%). Additionally, draft 80% designs have been completed. At each major design phase, CF led a stakeholder review meeting to discuss and receive comments on the design. In addition, following the draft 30% design, CF led an onsite tour/review of the project with stakeholders. Stakeholders that participated in design review included regional technical experts, regulatory agencies and the Chelan Douglas Land Trust (CDLT). The current design features 836 feet of excavated side channel that connects to currently disconnected oxbows and the intermittently connected "First Bend" side channel, creating a total of 1700 linear feet of perennial side channel. This will provide access to 0.47 acres of off channel habitat at low flow and 2.67 acres at high flow for salmonid species. Additional project elements completed in this phase include a wetland delineation report, wetland rating form, a re-vegetation plan, and a signed landowner agreement.
