DESCRIPTION
This site had an actively eroding bank and large wood was installed on the banks in 2013 by YN. CDLT purchased the site shortly thereafter. CCNRD installed 1,400 native trees and shrubs along 518' of Nason Creek. Plantings extended 75' from top of bank making this planning area a total of 0.89 acres. A deer exclusion fence was installed to minimize browse and bark chip mulch was placed around all plantings. Plantings were installed in fall 2016 and watered by hand ~once/month throughout summer 2017. A spring 2017 stem count indicated that most of the rose species had been eaten by pocket gophers but other than that, monitoring efforts indicate high levels of plant survival.
