DESCRIPTION
Alder Creek is a tributary to the Chiwawa river in the Upper Wenatchee sub-basin. Two fish passage barriers were identified as part of the Chelan County Fish Barrier Inventory (WDFW ID 604557 and 961017). Culvert removal and replacement on Alder Creek was part of a larger project to replace several fish passage barrier culverts in the Upper Wenatchee subbasin. This project removed two 48" culverts on Alder Creek and replaced them with two 24' span bridges. The project also involved installation of habitat boulders and rock weirs to make up for stream bed grade changes above/below the former culverts.
