DESCRIPTION
Trout Unlimited's Washington Water Project is working with one of the last flood-irrigators in the Methow Valley to change his Point of Diversion from the Twisp River to new wells on the landowner's property and upgrade the irrigation model to a K-line system. This project will improve irrigation efficiency on 25 acres and enhance instream flow by 4.5 cfs to improve habitat for three listed species found in the Twisp River. By eliminitating the surface diversion, TU-WWP will also be addressing a fish mortality issue caused by the diversion. The landowner will place the saved water into the Washington State Trust program for instream flows as a temporary donation, until they have used the new system for two seasons and have determined the actual water quantity needed.
POD change and irrigation efficiency on 30 acres, instream flow enhancement, up to 4 cfs to enhance instream flow habitat for three listed species.
