DESCRIPTION
The Old Peshastin Mill Riparian Enhancement Project is located within a Category II watershed where the loss and degradation of riparian habitat has been identified as a limiting factor affecting habitat condition. The proposed project will increase habitat diversity and quantity by removing a 780' road and re-planting the riparian habitat on the left bank of the Wenatchee River near Peshastin, WA near river mile 20.7. The project will consist of de-compacting the road bed and installing a mixture of native forbs, shrubs and trees to increase habitat diversity and quantity. The implementation of this project will assist salmon recovery efforts in the Columbia Cascade Province to benefit Upper Columbia steelhead, spring Chinook and bull trout along the Lower Wenatchee River during spawning, rearing and migration. The project was planted in the Spring of 2013.
