DESCRIPTION
The UPA Wenatchee Riparian Project is located in the Wenatchee River subbasin, a tributary to the Columbia River and was implemented in April 2008. The planting project enhanced 1.64 acres or 1,400 linear feet of riparian habitat directly adjacent to summer Chinook spawning habitat. The UPA Wenatchee Riparian project is part of a regional commitment by the Chelan County Natural Resource Department (CCNRD) to initiate long term habitat and restoration efforts within the Wenatchee River subbasin for Endangered Species Act (ESA) listed species, incorporating the recommendations from the Wenatchee Watershed Planning Unit (WWPU) and Regional Salmon Recovery efforts. The project consisted of the installation of native riparian plants, weed barrier mats, herbivory protection and an irrigation system
