DESCRIPTION
The McKenzie Ditch projects proposes to decommision 300-500 feet of existing open irrigation ditch and convert it into off-channel fish habitat, while at the same time converting users of the ditch to irrigation wells. Replacing the surface water diversions will avoid fish entrainment and mortality, as well as provide water savings through higher delivery efficiencies. The conversions will also keep surface water in stream during low flow, peak irrigation use periods in late summer and fall.
