DESCRIPTION
The riparian restoration project is located near Dryden, Washington along the left bank of the Wenatchee River at river mile 15.1. The project is located on private property that is used as a single family resident. The project consisted of installing native plants and an irrigation system along approximately 1,200 linear feet (or 0.96 ac) where the existing riparian vegetation is minimal or non-existing. The project had an average planting buffer width of 35 feet, although some of the planting areas may have a buffer ranging from 50 to 75 feet. The project site was planted on April 14, 2010 with 309 native shrubs and trees by the Washington Conservation Crew. The WCC also installed a drip line irrigation system at the time planting to provide water for the plants during the summer months and assist with plant establishment. The irrigation system was tied directly into the landowners existing irrigation system which is fed by a well through an existing water right.
