DESCRIPTION
This project involved the construction of a new upstream fish passage structure to improve passage renovation of the dam to prevent failure and construction of a new ditch headworks to eliminate winter redd-stranding and sediment accumulation. For upstream passage the fish ladder was replaced with a roughened channel. The channel was designed to provide passage at all potential flow regimes. The existing concrete dam was modified by increasing the elevation of the dam 6 inches to increase operator safety when placing flash boards in addition to reconstructing the downstream splash apron to stabilize the structure. An operable headgate with sediment retention capability and a removable adult fish barrier at the head of the ditch alleviates sediment and redd stranding.
