DESCRIPTION
The directors of the Fulton Ditch Company (FDC) have identified five shalerock locations where irrigation water percolates into the substratum. FDC will line these areas with Enviroliner (EL) textile, a 30-millimeter ultraviolet resistant geomembrane with a 10-year warranty and an expected longevity of 30 years. FDC has determined that 2000 lineal feet of 18' wide EL liner would substantially decrease water diversion from the Chewuck River. Lining the ditch could aid salmonoid passage in the stretch of river at the diversion dam, particularly at low water in late summer by preventing water seepage thorugh canal bottoms. This project could reduce the diversion of 5-10 cubic feet per second from the Chewuck River to the Fulton Ditch. The increase late summer instream flow will help salmon passage at the diversion dam.
