DESCRIPTION
Tourangeau ditch was constructed around 1913. The ditch withdraws roughly 0.5 cfs from Little Bridge Creek and irrigates approximately 8 acres. The water is used for stock water, pasture, garden, and landscaping. During low flows in late July and August the diversion dam becomes a barrier to juvenile fish. In 1994, WDFW's Yakima Screen Shop installed a fish screen . The ditch company now propses to eliminate the need for a diversion dam and eliminate fish barriers by running an intake pipe (i.e.:8"pvc) from the existing headgate which is a hundred feet upstream. The fish screen will remain where it is now and will continue to run effectively. The existing dam is beginning to decompose and will be partially dismantled by the ditch company to allow passage by juvenile fish. USFS personnel will provide technical assistance for this project.
