This project began in 2006 and will be completed in 2008, over 30 acres of riparian habitat will be restored and two miles of riparian road will be obliterated. Moving campsites farther back from the river, closing some user built sites, obliterating redundant roads and excessive foot trails and improving a limited number of foot trails that lead to the water away from tail-crests where salmon spawn will all help avoid additional habitat alterations and provide managers with clearly defined facilities to manage and enforce regulations. The project will maintain public access to an outstanding example of habitat used by listed spring Chinook salmon, bull trout and steelhead in the Upper Columbia.
