DESCRIPTION
The Utopia Complex East project continues restoration work on properties owned by the Skagit Land Trust near Lyman Washington.
The project will involve removing a bridge and fences, and restoration of 9 acres of riparian floodplain along Black Slough. The project also provides funding to evaluate removal of rip rap from the banks of the mainstem Skagit River; Designs and an engineer's estimate of cost will be produced for site SK060A-22, which consists of a small groin that extends into the Skagit River from the center of the SLT property; SFEG will also hire a consultant to evaluatethe potential effects of removing rip-rap at site SK060A-10, which extends south from the SLT property onto adjacent private ownerships. The evaluation will be used as a starting
point for discussing future rip-rap removal with neighboring landowners.
