DESCRIPTION
This project will permanently protect and restore a riparian buffer and extinguish development rights on a 100-acre farm in the lower reach of Illabot Creek through purchase of a conservation easement. Skagit Land Trust will draft, negotiate, hold and monitor the conservation easement. Skagit County will fund and manage the riparian restoration and fencing. The property includes approximately a half-mile of frontage on the south side of the main channel of the creek close to the mouth of the Skagit River. The north side of the creek at this location is owned by The Nature Conservancy (see Map #1).
