DESCRIPTION

Skagit County used this funding to acquire 50 acres of Samish River floodplain and riparian habitat. The project permanently protected, via fee simple acquisition, both sides of the Samish River for approximately 1/2 mile. This site, known as the Peterson property, has extensive wetlands within the floodplain providing high quality rearing habitat for coho, steelhead and cutthroat.
